Welcome To

Fairfax

Welcome to Fairfax

This town of 7500 residents that sits just north of Mt Tam is 30 minutes from San Francisco and 17 miles from Pt Reyes. With a distinctive 60s counter-culture, where the Jefferson Airplane once played softball with the Grateful Dead. If Fairfax feels like it is living in a time warp, that's just fine with its residents, who have passed ordinances prohibiting chain stores, plastic bags, and Styrofoam takeout food packaging. The art deco movie theater on Broadway and nightclub 19 Broadway, which features live music, are at the center of the action when it comes to nightlife in Fairfax.

The neighborhood climbs the surrounding hills and is located in the valleys of San Anselmo Creek and its offshoot Fairfax Creek. The Mount Tamalpais Protected Watershed is its southern border.

Village Sake

Village Sake

Village Sake is an Izakaya in Marin. Izakaya are Japanese pubs, and often community hubs. A welcoming place to eat and drink with friends and to celebrate life’s milestones. Executive Chef Scott Whitman’s passion for Japanese food began while opening a restaurant in Osaka, Japan. Partnering with Scott Porter, a lifelong Fairfax resident and local firefighter with strong ties to the community. Our designer, Jim Maxwell of Architects II, helped us draw from the best elements of the classic Izakaya to develop a relaxed but refined atmosphere that exists nowhere else in Marin.
