Muir Beach

Muir Beach

The beach, cove, and lagoon at Muir Beach are quiet and popular with locals. Muir Beach is three miles west of Muir Woods along the Pacific Coast. There's a 450-foot pedestrian bridge connecting the parking lot with the beach, the Coastal Trail, and Kaashi Way, a multi-use path.
Muir Beach Overlook

Muir Beach Overlook

Muir Beach Overlook provides expansive views of the Pacific Coast and is home to several historic base-end stations, observation posts that were part of the San Francisco Bay coastal defense system.
Muir Woods

Muir Woods

Located north of San Francisco, Muir Woods National Monument has towering old-growth redwood trees. Trails wind through the trees to Cathedral Grove and Bohemian Grove, and along Redwood Creek. In nearby Mount Tamalpais State Park, Ben Johnson and Dipsea climb a hillside to see the Pacific Ocean, the treetops, and Mount Tamalpais.
Pelican Inn

Pelican Inn

Barely 20 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge, the hospitable Pelican Inn rests at Muir Beach in the sea-blown fog, among the pines and alders, the honeysuckle and jasmine … a lodging refuge between the ocean, Muir Woods and the Northern California National Recreational Area parks. The Pelican opens its doors to you for the fellowship of its Tudor bar, country cooking, overnight lodging, or for a getaway of carefree feasting and relaxation.
