By August the town's routine has usually settled into muscle memory. This year it hasn't, because the two things residents plan around, Sunday music and the weekday dining loop, have both quietly relocated. If you have been defaulting to old habits, the next month rewards a small amount of re-planning.
The short version: the Summer Concert Series is finishing its season at Town Park while Menke Park's renovation wraps, and the eastern shopping cores are absorbing more of the daily rhythm than they usually do. Here is what that looks like in practice.
The concerts moved east, and they are about to move back
The 2026 Summer Concert Series is running every Sunday from June 14 through August 30, and this year it is being held at Town Park while Menke Park is under renovation, with concerts expected to return to the Piccolo Pavilion in Menke Park once construction is complete in late July. Concerts run 5:00 to 6:30 pm and are free.
That timing matters. The park closure was scheduled to run from the week of April 6 through mid-July, covering the ADA-accessible pathway, landscaping, pavilion improvements, and new seating. Meaning the last two or three Sundays of the series are the first weekends you can walk the refreshed Menke grounds with a blanket and a picnic. The lineup carrying you there:

The Americana and roots weight of the late-August lineup, from Jon Chi through Jackie Greene to Danny Click, is a softer landing than the funk and psych-rock earlier in the run. Bring the folding chairs; the sightlines at Town Park are flatter than at the Piccolo Pavilion's slope.
Where the new tables actually are
The dining picture in Corte Madera has been shifting toward the Town Center rather than the Village. Three data points, arranged in the order a resident will actually encounter them:

Super Duper Burgers is now open in Corte Madera, giving the town its first legitimate drive-thru burger with house-made buns. It is a weeknight-with-kids solution, not a destination.
Mijo, from the ownership team behind Guesthouse in Kentfield and Easy Rider in Petaluma, is the more interesting local story. It sits at 55 Tamal Vista Blvd next to Book Passage, described by its owners as an elevated, Californian/Spanish-inspired contemporary bar and restaurant specializing in wood-fired coastal flavors, bright and creative cocktails, and curated wine. If you have not been in the last quarter, the bar seats are the play.
The fall addition worth marking on the calendar: the Vietnamese chain Asian Box will debut at 100 Corte Madera Town Center this fall, from founders Chad Newton and chef Gracie Nguyen, offering customizable Vietnamese-inspired street food that is entirely gluten-free. Together with Super Duper's drive-thru window, that pushes the fast-casual gravity toward the Town Center side of Highway 101 and away from the Village's food hall model.
The weekday anchor most residents underuse
The Wednesday market is the piece of Corte Madera's calendar that outsiders never quite grasp. It runs every Wednesday from Noon until 5:00 pm, year-round, rain or shine, in the Town Center courtyard. The insider timing: most farmers are set up by 10 a.m. and you are welcome to shop then; artisan food producers arrive between 10 and 11 and are fully set by noon. A 10:30 arrival is quieter, cooler, and has better tomatoes.
Two other weekday habits worth folding in:
The Town Center Summer Music Series takes place on the first Thursday of each month, June through August, from 4 to 6 pm. That is one remaining date this summer, August 6, before the series closes for the year.
At the Village, live music runs every Saturday and Sunday now through December, and Thursdays bring rotating food trucks at lunch. The Village is the walk-and-graze rhythm. Town Center is the errand-plus-farmstand rhythm. Treating them as interchangeable is the mistake most newer residents make.
One Saturday worth planning around
If you have kids in the 6-to-14 range, block Saturday, September 19. The Marin Children's Business Fair returns to Town Center that day from 11 am to 2 pm, inviting kids ages 6 to 14 to develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and launch their own business in a one-day marketplace. It is one of the few local events that gives children a real transactional stakes moment rather than a passive one, and Town Center's courtyard is genuinely well-suited to it.
Applications close before the date, so if this is on the table, this month is the window.
What Menke Park will actually look like
The renovation is not cosmetic. The plan calls for a new ADA-compliant pathway connecting the lower and upper areas, regrading the site, a low retaining wall that also functions as a sitting wall, tree work, reroofing and repainting the Piccolo Pavilion, and a modified railing that is removable for special events. Practically, that means more seating without folding chairs, easier stroller and wheelchair access from Redwood Avenue, and a pavilion that can open up for larger events without physical dismantling.
The project is a $435,000 Town Council-approved renovation, with construction kicking off in spring. The Corte Madera Community Foundation ran the design partnership with local landscape architect Sara Cohen and the Town's Engineering Department, which is why the plant palette and slope character read as continuous with the old park rather than as a wholesale replacement. Residents who walked the ivy-covered slope with dread for years will notice the change immediately.
A shape for the next four weekends
If you want a template rather than a menu:
- This Sunday, 4:45 pm. Chairs and a bottle of something cold to Town Park for the concert. Walk-in from Tamalpais Drive is faster than driving.
- Wednesday, 10:45 am. The farmers market before the crowd arrives. Coffee first at the Town Center, then the market as vendors finish setting.
- Thursday lunch. Village food trucks if you are on the west side of 101; Mijo bar seats if you have an hour and a colleague to catch up with.
- Late August Sunday. The last two concert dates (Jackie Greene on the 23rd, Danny Click on the 30th) are the ones out-of-town friends will thank you for.
- September 19. Town Center for the Children's Business Fair, then a slow lunch when the tents come down.
Four weekends, one loop, almost no driving.
